Sven-Göran Eriksson, ex técnico de la Selección Mexicana admite le queda poco tiempo de vida

Ciudad de México – El entrenador sueco Sven-Göran Eriksson, de 75 años de edad y quien fuera entrenador de la Selección Mexicana entre 2008 y 2009 además de una amplia y brillante carrera en varios países, admitió este jueves en una entrevista que está muy enfermo de cáncer.

De acuerdo al también ex técnico de la Selección de Inglaterra, Costa de Marfil, Filipinas y clubes como Benfica, Roma, Lazio y Leicester City, entre muchos otros, los pronósticos apuntan a que le quedan unos 12 meses de vida.

“En el mejor de los casos, me queda un año. En el peor, algo menos”, señaló en una entrevista a la emisora pública Radio de Suecia el prestigioso técnico, que “resistirá mientras pueda”.

Svennis, diminutivo con el que se le conoce, confesó que en vez de quedarse en casa sentado “quejándome por tener mala suerte” prefiere tener una visión “positiva” y no ceder a la “adversidad”.

Sven-Göran Eriksson había dejado el año pasado, aduciendo problemas de salud, su cargo como director deportivo del modesto club sueco Karlstad, última etapa de una larga y fructífera trayectoria que comenzó a finales de la década de 1970 en su país de origen.

Tras ganar la Liga y una Copa de la UEFA con el Gotemburgo sueco, dio el salto al Benfica, donde logró tres ligas y de ahí pasó a Italia donde desarrolló la mayor parte de su carrera en clubes como Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria y Lazio, con el que obtuvo una Liga, varias copas y otra UEFA.

Eriksson pasó también por el futbol inglés ( Manchester City, Leicester) y fue seleccionador de Inglaterra, México, Costa de Marfil y Filipinas, además de probar en las ligas china y tailandesa.

Al frente de la Selección Mexicana dirigió 13 partidos con saldo de seis triunfos, un empate y seis derrotas para una efectividad del 48.72 por ciento.
