Benzema presenta demanda a político que lo acusa de vínculos con asesinatos islamistas

París, Francia – Karim Benzema, que está en la mira de la Premier League, presentó una demanda por difamación contra el dirigente ultraderechista francés Éric Zemmour por unas declaraciones en las que le vinculó con asesinatos islamistas cometidos en Francia.

La emisora RMC Sports informa de que el abogado de Benzema, Hugues Vigier, presentó la querella ante el Tribunal Judicial de París.

Si la demanda es admitida a trámite, Zemmour se expone a una pena de hasta un año de prisión y una multa de 45,000 euros, en caso de ser declarado culpable, añade RMC Sports.

Zemmour, presidente del partido de extrema derecha Reconquete (Reconquista) había establecido un vínculo entre Benzema y los asesinatos terroristas de dos profesores de secundaria, Samuel Paty en 2020 y Dominique Bernard en 2023.

En una entrevista televisada en octubre pasado, Zemmour dijo que Benzema “es un musulmán que quiere aplicar la ‘sharia’ (ley islámica), y la ‘sharia’ prevé la ‘yihad’ (guerra santa), y la ‘yihad’ quiere decir matar a Dominique Bernard, quiere decir matar a Samuel Paty”.

Benzema ya se quejó contra el ministro francés del Interior, Gérald Darmanin, quien en otra entrevista televisada, también en octubre, consideró “notorios” los vínculos de Benzema con los Hermanos Musulmanes, un grupo que en algunos países se considera terrorista, aunque no en Francia, donde tampoco es ilegal.

En la demanda, de 92 páginas, se acusa al ministro de generar división en Francia con sus declaraciones y de haber provocado daños a los hijos del futbolista, que aseguró no tener “ninguna relación” con los Hermanos Musulmanes.

“Cuando lo que se pretende es no importar el conflicto israelo-palestino a Francia, no se entiende que se corra el riesgo de atizar las brasas con declaraciones falsas”, indicaron los letrados del futbolista.
