Crece el lío en Hong Kong tras ausencia de Messi en partido amistoso

ORGANIZADORES DE PARTIDO RETIRARÁN LA SOLICITUD DE UNA SUBVENCIÓN DE 2,04 MILLONES DE EUROS POR NO PRESENCIA DE JUGADOR

Ciudad de México – El organizador del partido amistoso de futbol entre una selección de Hong Kong y el Inter Miami anunció este lunes que retirará la solicitud de una subvención gubernamental de 16 millones de dólares hongkoneses (2,04 millones de dólares estadounidenses, 1,8 millones de euros) tras la ausencia del argentino Lionel Messi en el encuentro.

Tatler Asia, la empresa organizadora del duelo, también retirará la emblemática marca ‘M’ que representa el megaevento, declaró en una rueda de prensa este lunes su presidente y consejero delegado, Michel Lamunière,

Sin embargo, no mencionó nada sobre el reembolso del dinero de las entradas a los aficionados, dejando en incertidumbre el destino de su inversión.

El partido de exhibición que enfrentó el domingo a la selección hongkonesa con el Inter de Miami, propiedad del exfutbolista inglés David Beckham, pretendía ser un espectáculo, pero se convirtió en un relato de desencanto generalizado, ya que la leyenda del fútbol argentino y la renombrada estrella uruguaya Luis Suárez no comparecieron sobre el terreno de juego.

Posteriormente, el entrenador del conjunto estadounidense, el argentino Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino, se disculpó ante los medios de comunicación locales y pidió comprensión a los hinchas, aludiendo al enorme riesgo físico que suponía alinear a Messi y Suárez.

Beckham, también presidente del club de Florida, fue blanco de abucheos y de la furia del público cuando, al terminar el encuentro, trató de agradecer a los cerca de 40.000 espectadores su “increíble apoyo” tras la primera victoria de este año por 4-1 sobre el combinado hongkonés.

Asimismo, el secretario de Cultura, Deportes y Turismo de la región semiautónoma, Kevin Yeung, se dirigió a los medios de comunicación para expresar su decepción, y declaró que “una de las condiciones clave de nuestro acuerdo de financiación era que Messi participara en el partido al menos 45 minutos, sujeto a consideraciones de aptitud física y seguridad”.

Por otro lado, Yeung señaló con el dedo al organizador y le exigió una explicación sobre el incidente y las circunstancias que rodearon a la ausencia de los jugadores en el terreno de juego, así como su conexión con el Inter Miami.
