Selección de Gambia se lleva susto se quedan sin oxígeno en avión donde viajaba

Ciudad de México – Los jugadores de la selección de Gambia vivieron momentos de pánico luego de que el avión en el que se trasladaban para sostener un encuentro de la Copa Africana se quedó sin oxígeno por un espacio de nueve minutos.

Tras lo sucedido, varios de los jugadores se desmayaron mientras se dirigían a Costa de Marfil. Esta situación provocó que el avión retornara a la capital de Gambia, tras nueve minutos en los cielos, cuando la tripulación del avión detectó desperfectos técnicos.

“Las investigaciones preliminares indican que se produjo una pérdida de presión y oxígeno en la cabina”, dijo la federación de aquel país mediante un comunicado. Air Cote d’Ivoire, empresa operada del vuelo fletado, seguirá investigando la situación para establecer la causa de la falta de oxígeno y presión en la cabina, añadió.

Sintieron que pudieron morir

Tom Saintfiet, entrenador del equipo de Gambia, declaró que los elementos del combinado de futbol sintieron que pudieron perder la vida en este percance. Saidy Janko, que jugó en el Real Valladolid, y quien publicó un post en Instagram, indicó que algunos de los que estaban a bordo comenzaron a sentir fuertes dolores de cabeza y mareos extremos.

“Realmente estábamos muriendo en el avión. No había oxígeno en este avión, todos se quedaron dormidos, quedaron un poco inconscientes y el piloto decidió, después de nueve minutos de estar en el aire, regresar para salvar nuestras vidas”.

“No caían máscaras de oxígeno. Estoy dispuesto a morir por Gambia, pero en el campo de futbol, no fuera de él. Tuve sueños breves en los que transcurría mi vida, tuve momentos en los que pensé que me estaba muriendo”, contó El equipo tenía previsto tomar otro vuelo hacia Costa de Marfil la tarde del jueves para llegar a la ciudad de Yamoussoukro, donde disputará varios de sus partidos en la fase de grupos, informó la federación.
